The survey
results show a 7% increase in total international graduate
enrollment, after rising 1% last year. It is the largest gain
since 2002. However, first-time enrollment increased just 4%,
slowing from last year’s 12% growth. In addition, the survey found
that the overwhelming majority of graduate deans, 87%, have
participated in some type of international outreach or recruitment
activity. As one example, almost half, 48%, of deans have visited
